Share your passion for the Melbourne Football Club by becoming part of The Demon Army - the official cheer squad of the Club. The Demon Army is one of the most visible and recognised sectors of the Club’s supporting community, and has been so since at least the 1950s.
Cheer squad members have the privilege of being as close to the action as you can get as a supporter. Located behind the goals in a family friendly environment, the Demon Army adds to the voice and colour of match days. The Demon Army also shares the responsibility of preparing the weekly run through, and representing the Club Australia wide.
New members are always welcome! We want to see the Demon Army grow, and we encourage you to join us and enjoy the benefits experienced by our current members. Cheer squad members must hold a 2017 Melbourne Football Club membership to be eligible to join.
Benefits of a 2018 Demon Army membership include:
- Exclusive 2018 Demon Army beanie to help you stand out behind the goals on match day
- The best seats in the house on match day
- Access to reserved seats at away games
- The chance to walk onto the 'G to display the Club banner
- Access to social functions, with player appearances
- Access to ticketing privileges
- A place to share your passion, and meet new Demon friends
- Finals tickets eligibility (should Melbourne compete, the Cheer Squad is allotted specific finals tickets, which are allocated to active Cheer Squad members).

All Demon Army members have the opportunity to assist with the production of the match day banner and if you’re 13 or over, you’ll be invited to come out onto the ground to hold it up. A cheer squad run through construction session is conducted each week at The Reach Foundation – members can simply turn up and talk to the supervisors to learn how to assist. Basic food and drink is provided.
Demon Army Committee
The Demon Army is headed up by a three person committee consisting of Ryan Sinclair, Suzanne Considine, and Sophie Galer.
These three fanatical Dees fans work in conjunction with the MFC and Demon Army advisor John Trotter (MFC board member and previous cheer squad member) and will happily work with anyone and everyone who wishes to be involved in the Demon Army.
The vision of this group is ‘to be an unashamedly positive reflection of the Melbourne Football Club, through the enthusiasm, passion and unity of its supporters.’
The Demon Army is a supporter group for the most fanatical of Melbourne supporters - a supporter group run by Melbourne supporters, for Melbourne supporters. It will be somewhere for the passionate and fanatical to meet like minded people. During the year, there will also be social functions and discounted travel.
How you can get involved
The most important role of Demon Army is to turn up at our games and cheer on the team – however, there are many more ways in which you can be involved. It doesn’t matter if you’re a lawyer or housewife, a student or a doctor. If you’re a fanatical Demons fan, then we need you. Stay tuned for more information, or contact Ryan Sinclair, Suzanne Considine and Sophie Galer via email to let us know how you would like to be involved.
